(Single arm weights, of course)
I have a small weight set that goes from 8 to 25, as of now I can?t lift 25 and 20 is pretty hard.
Should I do 20, stick with 15, or will only heavy two armed weights build muscle mass?
Also, I don?t like the idea of muscles growing in-proportionately. Is this even a risk with single armed weights?
Well, if you?re talking about just doing bicep curls or the like I?d recommend dropping that altogether and going for push ups. Seriously, why isolate muscles when you could be using so much more doing push ups? They work your arms, chest, back and abs. But I?m seriously partial to body weight exercises.
Other than that I?d say don?t use the 20 if you can?t do 3 full sets of around 10. If the 15 is pretty easy then use the 20. And as far as asymmetry goes so long as you work both sides evenly it won?t be a problem. And if it should become a problem just work the other side a little more by adding 2-3 reps to each set on that side.
